I’m Julie Lucas, a photographer with a passion for capturing amazing and inspiring moments, from sports, kids and family portraits, to special events and corporate websites. Light, mood, composition and detail are used with intention producing character and originality for each and every project.

My Story…

I grew up in the North Shore suburbs of Chicago and have lived in Evanston with my husband raising my three kids for the past 17 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in, Photojournalism, from Columbia College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire. I started my photography career as a photojournalist, working at The Daily Herald and Press Publications. I also freelanced for several publications including The Chicago Sun Times and Pioneer Press. I started my photography business when my husband and I started a family. I love capturing a kid in action, no matter the action, at a park or in a studio, at a field or a gym. I love the action and emotion shooting an athlete playing their game, I love capturing the personality that is unique in every child.
